Thing-a-Day 28 : Mia silhouette

I can't believe it's the 28th already! Time does fly when you're crafting all month long. :)
I wanted to end this awesome month in style, with a new version of Mia. But, as I'm obsessed with fabrics lately, I made this cute deco frame with Mia's silhouette.

The frame ended up on my desk, near all my other goodies, that are quite dear to me. You can check out the picture to see what's what.

February was a busy month but I loved every minute of it. Thank you for following me and my thing-a-day approach. You guys rule! Yes, you!
It's a cloudy and windy day, so I'll stay in, practice my German and maybe watch a re-run of the Oscars this evening!

Since, March marks the beginning of spring, I wish you all a wonderful fairytale like spring.
Hugs.

Thing-a-Day 27 : Just another lovely Sunday

Tad27b

Normally, my weekends are: out of the house, cooking something yummy, meeting with friends, movies, laughter, maybe visit a museum, almost no online presence. I'm just taking a break from my daily routine.

This morning we enjoyed a Bavarian breakfast (the famous weisswürste with brezen and weissbier), visited the BMW museum, made spaghetti bolognese, spent quality time with friends and this evening I made this spring-like earrings with cute little charms and all dressed up in baby blue ribbon.

Unfortunately, the picture has really low quality and most likely I will retake it tomorrow in daylight.

Hope you all had an amazing and relaxing weekend!

Thing-a-day 25: Sunny Saturday

This is what I did today, so far:
  • Woke up at 6 am (crazy I know) as we had to give somebody a ride to the airport
  • Witnessed a beautiful sunrise
  • Enjoyed a yummy breakfast with Adi in our sunny living room
  • Made this whimsical brooch, with a Dali watch, lace, gold plated metal and cute small glass beads
A pretty normal, lazy Saturday.

I'll stop right here, as we have a friend over, a night out in the town and a relaxing but entertaining Sunday ahead.

Wish you all a lovely evening!
Hugs

Thing-a-Day 25 : Miss Ann and the creamy blossom

This Friday it was all about organizing. I spent all my morning reorganizing the wardrobe. This is actually a recurring activity as I don't seem to be able to keep it all neat.
I suspect my clothes don't like me very much.

In the evening, I got to pimp my blog a little. It really needed some love and attention. :)
I also have some more work to do on it, to make it more homey and reader-friendly. Got any tips for me?

Between all this organizing and blog pampering, I made a new Miss Ann brooch.
It's made from blue polymer clay with a wonderful creamy-white blossom in her hair. Just lovely.

I wish you all a wonderful sunny weekend!

Thing-a-Day 24 : Romance and pasta

No polymer clay blossoms for today. Why? Well, because I tried to make some this morning but it just didn't work out. This is how it is sometimes, the clay wouldn't shape the way I want it to. But, instead, I got to make this gorgeous romantic brooch, with a satin bow, beautiful vintage lace and my favorite vintage bead.

Also, I made carbonara spaghetti today - my favorite pasta. I used to love the ones they served at this amazing cozy-chic bistro in Brasov, called Bistro de l'Arte. But, after we moved here I started to cook them myself and I tried all kinds of variations of the original recipe. I love them all.
It's very possible that the main reason I like carbonara so much is that it's such a simple recipe - the essence of Italian cooking.

So, let's get personal. What's you favorite dish?
Just name the first thing that comes to mind. :)

Thing-a-Day 23 : Pink Roses on a busy Wednesday

I just love the days when I wake up early. Days like these normally happen when we get mail and the mailman gives the wake up call!
Not only did I receive a wonderful package from Andreea (bibabijoux.blogspot.com) with the most amazing jewelry just perfect for spring, but I also managed to do a lot of things today.

Today I made three blossoms - two of them as pink and gray earrings and the third one as a blooming flower in a lovely locket. The bronze wish box is pretty small, but with such wonderful details.

This is it for today as I'm pretty tired and just want to enjoy a cup of tea and a light book - it's Sushi for beginners time.

Have a wonderful evening!
Hugs.

Thing-a-Day 22 : Green blossoms

All my closest friends know, by now, a little weird quirk of mine: I read more than one book at a time. Recently, I began reading a book I had for some time now - Sushi for beginners by Marian Keyes. I know, I know, it's a chick-lit, but I love it. Actually, of this genre, I like only Marian Keyes' books. I also tried Shopie Kinsella and some other writers, but their books just don't do it for me.

The book is about three different women and how they manage their lives in different situations, all happening in the green and oh so rainy Dublin, Ireland. This could be one of the reasons I enjoy this book so much and why I chose green for today's blossoms.

Did you ever think of the first country you visit, outside your home country, as your first travel-love? I do. And it just so happened that I got to stay for three month and two weeks in the country I first visited. This country is Ireland. I studied there, in the rainy, homey, super-awesome-to-me Letterkenny, Donegal. Also, I got to visit most of the country and I just love it. Of course, the phrase "lovely weather" has a totally different meaning for me now. :)

I do hope I'll get to go back soon.

What's your first country love?

Thing-a-Day 21 : Blossoms

For the last week of this year's Thing-a-Day I decided to make one pair of these lovely earrings everyday. So, Monday's blossoms are deep purple and peach with white little pearls.

I decided to make a new batch of them because they are so spring like and add that special something to an outfit.
The first time I made one of these cute blossom earrings, was actually last year, during Thing-a-Day. Pretty neat, right?

I had such a busy day, writing emails to my lovely friends and clients, a new marketing article for Revista Atelierul - the first Romanian online crafts magazine and went shopping for some more packaging supplies. It was a good day. :)

Have a great week!

Thing-a-Day 20 : Lazy Sunday

How else would you describe a perfect, cloudy and snowy Sunday, but lazy? This morning I made this very lady-like pair of earrings, perfect to brighten up the day.
We watched The Mentalist, ate carrot cake and in the evening we went out to a very hip restaurant where we had a wonderful time.

Also I took this picture with me wearing the cute dress I embellished yesterday, as promised to Daria.

We walked all the way home, it's was fun but cold, so I'll get cozy under a warm blanket with a cup of flavored tea.
Hope you all have a lovely evening!

Thing-a-Day 19 : Embellish

I finally get to sit down on a comfortable couch, with a very pleasant glass of red whine next to me and a yummy carrot cake in the oven. Yep, it's been a busy day.
But, at the end of a day like this I like to pamper myself a bit. I'm sure you do the same! :)

My thing-a-day for this Saturday is a small embellishment that I added to a new dress I bought from Pimkie this Monday. I really like the shape of the dress, but I found it too..plain. As I simply love romantic looks and lace, I sewed on the dress this white flower lace applique. I think it's way prettier now! Don't you?

That's it for today..I do hope you're having an amazing evening!
